This IV course is for RNs and LVNs. It is also for MAs working under the direct supervision of an RN, or MD. This is a basic IV therapy class that prepares the student to insert a peripheral short catheter IV in the upper extremities. THIS IS NOT AN INFUSION THERAPIST COURSE. At completion of this course, the student will be able to safely insert a peripheral IV and maintain intravenous therapy in an acute Medical/Surgical, Nursing Home, Home Health, or Physician's Office setting. Non-Nurses will not be able to practice IV Therapy in the Nursing Home, or Home Health setting. At the end of this class the student receives a certificate of completion and a competency check off showing their mastery of peripheral IV skills. Group Basic Class Fee: $200.00 per person
