FULL RN/LVN LONG-TERM CARE REFRESHER COURSE
Perry & Associates offers a full RN/LVN Nurse Refresher course designed for inactive registered nurses returning to active practice. The focus of the course is to expand the nurse’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes by applying information related to current technology, equipment, nursing trends, and legalities to previously acquired formal education and skills competency.
You will complete Online classes totaling 114 - 128 hours of didactic training. These classes include the 20 hours of Continuing Education Training approved by the ANCC that are required by the state of Texas.
The BON requires nurses seeking to reinstate their license to complete a Clinical Preceptorship with a qualified nurse preceptor - 80 hours of clinical practice under the supervision of a qualified nurse.
Note: You must have completed CPR certification, TB Tests/Chest X-rays, and started your Hep. B vaccinations, as well as your flu, pneumonia, and other vaccinations, must be current.
Students in this course should hold a current or expired RN or LVN license in the USA.

NOTE: Students with stipulations or disciplinary actions on their license must find and secure their own 80-hour clinical site.

This course is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses who have been out of the clinical setting for some time and desire to re-enter the workplace. It is part of the Texas Board of Nursing’s requirement for reinstatement of licensure. Content is based on BON recommendations for “nursing refresher” courses.
The refresher nurse must complete the 80 hours of supervised clinical learning experiences by providing direct, hands-on patient care. These experiences occur in actual patient care clinical learning situations. Perry & Associates cannot guarantee placement, but has affiliation agreements with companies that own Skilled Nursing and medical facilities throughout Texas that will allow refresher students to complete the required 80-hour supervised clinical.
