Carolyn Perry's journey began at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1974. With a foundation in nursing, Carolyn's career flourished as she accumulated a wealth of expertise and certifications that have solidified her role as an influential figure in healthcare education.
Her dedication to continuing education led Carolyn to become a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) in 1994. Her commitment to addressing specialized needs within healthcare continued as she obtained the Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certification and became a Certified Alzheimer's Disease Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT) in 2014.
In 2006, Carolyn's passion for education and healthcare culminated in the establishment of Perry & Associates Healthcare Education. The organization's mission is to promote excellence in healthcare by providing relevant, specific, and affordable continuing education for healthcare professionals. Under Carolyn's leadership, Perry & Associates offered various services, including long-term care consulting, state survey preparation assistance, crisis management, and targeted professional development sessions.
Throughout her career, Carolyn demonstrated leadership and clinical acumen. Notably, she served as the Director of Nursing at various skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, including Vista Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, Stonegate Senior Living, Doctor's Health and Rehabilitation Center, Brookhaven Nursing Center, and Grace Presbyterian Village. These roles allowed her to oversee clinical administration and develop and lead training programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines while maintaining the highest standards of care.
Furthermore, Carolyn's expertise extended beyond the confines of her primary roles. She was a Training Specialist at Zix Corporation, providing demonstrations and training for medical software. She was a Regional Director of Clinical Services at Cantex Healthcare, offering clinical consulting to multiple nursing homes. Her influence expanded through her Program Director role at Agape Healthcare Services, where she directed the Certified Nurse Aide program.
Carolyn's dedication was not solely confined to her professional roles; she has consistently extended her knowledge and experience to serve a variety of institutions. She conducted directed in-services, marketing CE in-services, and IV training for numerous healthcare facilities and organizations, exemplifying her commitment to knowledge dissemination and skill enhancement.
As a member of the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) and the American Nurses Association, Carolyn Perry was a driving force in healthcare education. Basic IV Therapy
This IV course is for RNs and LVNs. It is also for MAs working under the direct supervision of an RN or MD. This is a basic IV therapy class that prepares the student to insert a peripheral short catheter IV in the upper extremities.
We offer full and didactic only options to RNs and LVNs who wish to return to the workforce.
